OUR STORY

OliwillAfro was born from a personal journey, a deep love for Afro hair, and a desire to help Black women reconnect with the beauty of their natural texture.

In 2017, after another big chop and a return to natural hair, founder Marnice Olivia Mesadieu experienced a turning point. She made the decision to fully embrace her Afro hair — to understand it, care for it properly, and appreciate its true nature instead of running away from it.

What started as a personal hair journey quickly became something bigger.

As Marnice began seeing visible changes in the health of her hair, women around her became curious. Questions turned into conversations, conversations turned into guidance, and little by little she began helping other women better understand and care for their Afro hair.

On May 18th, 2019, she hosted her very first hair workshop at home with 9 women. That intimate moment became the beginning of a larger mission rooted in education, healthy hair practices, and community.

In February 2022, Marnice became a Certified Trichologist under Dr. Kari Williams, with the goal of supporting Black women experiencing scalp conditions, hair damage, and hair care challenges through both virtual and in-person consultations.

Today, OliwillAfro is the realization of a long-held dream :
to create thoughtful, respectful hair care products designed specifically for Afro-textured hair and the women who wear it proudly.

Each product is carefully formulated to support both scalp health and the true needs of Afro hair — without unnecessary heaviness, harsh practices, or unrealistic expectations.

But OliwillAfro is about more than products.

It is about education.
It is about healthier methods.
It is about learning how to work with Afro hair instead of against it.

Because Afro hair deserves understanding, care, softness, and respect 💛
